Information System Infrastructure Project

Information System Infrastructure Project

Research Lead: Shinji Shimojo, Professor, Cybermedia Center, Osaka University

In the Information System Infrastructure Project, we are building a platform for collecting various types of PLR data. In the world of Society 5.0, data will be used in a variety of ways and it will be stored in a distributed manner in places such as users’ smartphones and the cloud (in the case of sensing data), and at hospitals and other medical institutions (in the case of medical data). In order to make it possible to use this distributed data while satisfying a wide range of privacy and security requirements, we will develop (1) a blockchain-based distributed sharing and management mechanism, (2) a consent management system for privacy-sensitive data, (3) an appropriate encryption method, (4) a confidential computation method that enables statistical processing without having to access the raw data while providing sufficiently strong encryption at the same time.
